When we’re faced with great uncertainty, our usual reaction is to worry. Some of us even go straight into a state of panic. When we do this we go out-of-body. We vacate ourselves. Hence, we become more attached to our external world for guidance. We find ourselves mapping out surfaces in the dark. This makes us easy prey for those who have the intention to manipulate others.
We can spend the rest of our lives doing this no matter how futile it may be or we can see uncertainty for what it truly is – an invitation to transcend the way we know ourselves, the way we experience ourselves. Uncertainty is an opportunity to learn how to let go of our attachments to forms and outcomes. It is an opportunity to discover that true power is within, not without.
